The Nobel Prize was founded by the works of Alfred Nobel, who was a self taught Swedish scientist. He devoted his day and night to creating inventions and studying philosophy, and sciences such as Chemistry. He invented the chemical Nitroglycerine which is a high powered explosive. His inventions led to the creation of many of the bombs used in WWI and WWII. And he eventually became one of the richest men in Europe and started a foundation called the Nobel Foundation. This foundation was created to give an award to the latest discovery in Science, Economics and Medicine. Nobel was so rich all the prize money from these awards comes only from the interest of his investments.
